Born and raised in Cork. I moved to the UK in the 90’s where I worked mostly in the IT recruitment Sector for a number of years working with a large Recruitment Company and subsequently set up in business myself.
I was about to return to work after the birth of my second daughter when she was diagnosed with a Life-threatening Disease, Cystic Fibrosis (CF). This mainly affects the lungs along with the digestive system and internal organs.
As you can imagine this changed the trajectory of our lives as a family. Mine in particular. In short, I became a “homemaker”. As parents, my husband and I felt it was important when you have a child with health concerns, that one of us was on hand rather than a childminder or creche.
This is really where my interest in Nutrition developed. Nutrition is one of the keys to wellness for CF. They have difficulty in absorbing nutrients and calories from their food/diet. I was committed to provide our daughter the best start possible. Exercise and lifestyle is of huge importance also, particularly for lung health and clearance.
I was actively researching ways to keep the body healthy and well. Having experienced some health concerns in recent years myself, I came to believe that it’s not only what you put into your body that matters, it’s how you move it, how you treat it, how you perceive it that also matters.
This lead me to study Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching (NLC), thus leading me here today.
Nutrition and Lifestyle coaching focuses on diet and lifestyle advice. To redress clients nutritional imbalances for disease prevention, optimum health and peak performance.
I take a collaborative approach with the client/s, focusing on the individual as a whole, not just the physical but also personal well-being.
I will tailor make a nutrition and lifestyle plan to suit you. I cater for Individuals of all ages with a variety of goals as well as:
